Wayfinder at Pendle Hill

Junge-frau heard a calling to traverse the Haudenosaunee longhouse and enter the Great Forest known as Penn-sylvania. She followed the ancient migratory pathways of Eastern shorebirds and instructions from her Global Positioning System along highways and flyways to the sacred temenos of Pendle Hill. She’d brought seeds with her from other worlds, planting them in the well-cultivated soil layered down over generations by
Friends at their yearly Convergence and Rites of Passage. Now, lying quietly in the lap of her-Self, she’s traveling again, through deep time and into the center, asking, what is mine to do in this place? She waits, breathing softly and listening for messages from the ancestors as they shape-shift -- Vulpes, Cirsium, Terrapene -- in the rich ecosystem of her dreams. Other worlds offer themselves continuously to her imagination, announcing her place in the family of things – new f/Friends and all-her-relations -- here at the Confluence, here on the Hill, here on Turtle Island.

Influences for this active imagination came from the Haudenosaunee Creation story, Marian Dunlea’s Bodydreaming, the “Parts Work” of IFS, and the poem Wild Geese by the late Mary Oliver. Cameo appearances made by George Fox (Vulpes/fox), Elined Kotschnig (Cirsium/thistle), and C.G. Jung (Terrapene/turtle), who boldly examined the spirit of their times while centering deeply in their own Truths, providing a trustworthy model for FCRP.

She experienced her first Friends Conference on Religion and Psychology at Pendle Hill in 2023 and serves as co-Clerk of the FCRP Collaborative, 2024-2027, with gratitude to the Planning Committee elders who recognized a kindred spirit bringing seeds.
